What

How
do I know if I have a subluxation?
Often
times there is pain and a loss of normal motion associated with
a subluxation. Subluxations are found through careful x-ray interpretation
and gentle motion and palpation of the spine. The subluxation may
be very insidious due to the fact that it does not always have any
symptomotology.

How
does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic
is literally the backbone of human health. Misalignments of the
vertebrae can be caused by trauma or repetitive poor posture. This
result can put pressure on the spinal nerve roots which may lead
to diminished function and illness. The chiropractor will analyze
and correct these misalignments through gentle mobilization techniques
called adjustments.

Is
chiropractic safe?
Chiropractic
is safe for people of all ages. We care for children as young as
a few weeks old to the elderly, and everyone in between.
Today,
more than 50,000 chiropractors help over 20,000,000 people each
year in the U.S. alone! Millions throughout the world confirm that
chiropractic is safe and effective care. Research shows that patient
risk is considerably lower for chiropractic care when compared to
medical care, due to the risks associated with prescription drugs
and surgery.
The gentle mobilization of the spine is painless, safe and extremely
effective. The only thing you will have to worry about is increasing
your activity level to maintain proper spinal health.

What
is an adjustment?
A
chiropractic adjustment is generally a low force, high speed gentle
technique used to restore proper position and movement to the spine.
This enables better functioning of the central nervous system. Chiropractors
restore the essential nerve supply and eliminate joint inflammation
through adjustments.

What
is that sound when the doctor adjusts my spine?
The
patient may hear a popping noise as the spinal joint is opened.
Research has proved that small pockets of air bubbles are found
in the tissue fluid surrounding the joint capsule. When the joint
tissues are stretched during a chiropractic adjustment, the pockets
of air pop creating a sound.
